Ok, I’ve had a few suggestions from people, and also some re-think of other areas after playing the latest Tricky’s (29) event using v1.1
I’ve decided to keep the RZR gun with it’s new option. It is fun and isn’t that unbalanced because of the RZR’s short range and the turret’s habit of shooting wildly and not hitting anything when in auto.
For the RWR, I will allow the ALB, PTR and RZR to carry it for “free”. But I think I will do something slightly different for the Manta. My (lore) reasoning for this is that the RADAR absorbent materials the Manta is made of, that give it such a low RCS will absorb the RADAR energy too much for the RWR to work. Plus, the low RCS is potentially a significant buff for the Manta already.
Fog of War v2
The first version of Revolution brought us the “fog of war” mode. Where you would not know who controlled an island until you got close to it. A logical evolution of this that I’m planning to add (requested by two different people now) is to hide the island type and shield count until it is in view. This should lead to much changed recon activity and less predictable strategy (especially in maps with fewer islands).
Fish Radar
Also in v1.0, Needlefish gained simple RADARs, I kept the ranges of these short out of the worry that giving them too large a range would make them be used as “easy” AWACS. It has turned out however that they are slow, expensive and do not have great range (approx 50% of map width). So I will look at increasing their range up to the full 10km as you get with a golfball RADAR.
